And Thomas told BBC Sport: "I said to Murray that it was all down to him. "I'm so proud of the players. It's been a hectic week with all the turmoil, but we've shown grit and determination to win bronze. "We didn't really expect to get the bronze. The goal was quarter-finals and then anything can happen. "We're ahead of schedule. We've got a new team who are quite young and we are raring to get the gold medal in 2012." Bywater said: "I can't believe we've done it. "It's definitely my best individual performance, but it was a great team performance. | 606: DEBATE |
"This bronze feels like gold. It's the hardest tournament we've ever played in - first to get out of the group of death and then to beat the world number one in this match." Pollock added: "It's absolutely unbelievable, we strive on playing on emotion." And Andy Blake, who confirmed it was his last GB appearance, said: "There's no better way to go out than winning a medal."
