Brown's win is a boost ahead of next year's Beijing Paralympics |
Yorkshire archer Danielle Brown secured gold and set three new world records with an impressive display at the IPC World Championships in Korea. The 19-year-old, who only took up the sport four years ago, was ranked number one going into the open compound event.
She set a new world record in the qualification round, beating her own previous record of 1341 by one point.
Brown then carried her good form into the knock-out phase, defeating Wang Li of China 114-108 in the final.
The University of Leicester law student also set a new world best for a 36 arrow pass over 70 metres, with a score of 345 points out of 360, and a new record for a 12 arrow pass with 116 out of 120.

There was also individual gold for Steve Prowse in the visually impaired event with Melissa Carter winning bronze. Kate Murray also took bronze in a tense finale to the women's recurve W2 competition.
She was up against Roksolana Dzoba of Ukraine, and after they had tied at 99 points each, Murray triumphed in a shoot-off, scoring a 10 to her opponent's nine.
Britain have a chance to add to their medal tally in the team events later this week.
