Munn's performance was crucial to Britain's victory |
Great Britain's men's basketball team are one victory away from reaching next year's Paralympics after beating France 70-61 in the European Championships. The result means that if they beat Sweden on Thursday they will finish in the top four teams in the tournament - guaranteeing a place in Beijing.
Simon Munn with 30 and Jon Pollock with 21 were their top points scorers.
Britain's women beat Spain 41-38 to keep alive their hopes of earning a spot in China next year.
They need to finish in the top three in their tournament and if they overcome Turkey on Thursday they will reach the semi-finals.
A win there over probably either Spain or France, who they have already beaten in the tournament, would be enough to qualify for the Paralympics.
Women's coach Gary Peel said: "I am absolutely delighted with the team's performance. Some of the players did really well tonight and although it got a bit close I thought we were in control of the game."
Men's coach Murray Treseder, in his first competition in charge of the British team, said: "We're getting better in each game and are wearing our opponents down.
"The intensive training and match play in Australia, where we warmed up, is paying dividends."
