David Roberts won gold and bronze at the Manchester Aquatics Centre

David Roberts won the S7 50m freestyle in 29.18 seconds and bronze in the multi-disability 100m freestyle.

Gareth Duke hit gold in the SB6 100m breaststroke and added a bronze in the SM6 200m freestyle.

Nyree Lewis won the S6 100m backstroke in 1.30.32, plus a silver in the SM6 200m freestyle event which also saw Newport's Liz Johnson take the bronze.

There was also success for Team GB's Welsh contingent on the track, with Dame Tanni-Grey Thompson claiming silver in the T53 200m in her final race before retirement.

Cardiff's John McFall won gold in the T42 200m and added a silver in the 100m, while Lloyd Upsdell, from Newport, took double silver in the T35 100m and 200m.

In the field events Deeside's Beverley Jones won the women's F37 shot-putt.

In cycling, Wrexham's Ellen Hunter - with riding partner Aileen McGlynn - won gold in the tandem sprint.

Former paralympic swimming champion Jody Cundy, born in Cambridgeshire but now living in Newport, landed gold in the team sprint and one kilometre time trial - setting world records in both.
