The men defeated the Netherlands 53-45 before losing 61-53 to Paralympic champions Canada, who they will meet again in the last four on Wednesday.

Simon Munn top-scored on 18 points against the Dutch with Terry Bywater hitting 21 against Canada.

The women took second place after the round-robin stage after beating France 42-34 with Ann Wild top-scoring on 12.

They will face Spain in Wednesday's semi-final with Japan taking on the French.

GB led Canada by one point after the first quarter but after that the Paralympic champions, who had earlier lost to Australia, pulled away for victory led by Joey Johnson and David Eng.

But the GB men's coach Murray Treseder was still pleased with his side's performance in his first tournament since taking over from Dave Titmuss.

"That was a massive learning experience for us and I'm pleased with how we reacted, despite the defeat," he said.

"We've made a big step forward and this week is as much about the bigger picture as the final."

The vastly experienced Wild was also pleased with her side's performance against the French after they put in a strong second-half display to secure the win.

"It was a massive victory and demonstrates the great spirit that there is within the team," she said.
