Mistry was beaten in the last four of the doubles |
Britain's Jayant Mistry and Lucy Shuker both went out of the Australian Wheelchair Tennis Open on Thursday. Shuker lost 7-6 (7-5) 6-1 to Dutch world number three Sharon Walraven in the women's singles quarter-finals.
"I don't feel I served well but apart from that I'm quite pleased," said world number 14 Shuker.
Mistry teamed up with Satoshi Saida in the men's doubles but they lost 6-3 6-2 to top seeds Robin Ammerlaan and Shingo Kunieda in the semi-finals.
Shuker, 26, went into her match hopeful of victory against Walraven but was not too disappointed by her defeat.
"After my first experience of playing against her I thought that for a world number three she was pretty beatable if I got it right," she said.
"I had a bit of a brain freeze today as far as my serve went - I served three double-faults in the first three points of the match.
"My sliced backhand is coming on well and I've just got to keep working at returning the ball into the space, but I've come away from the match happy."
The Australian Wheelchair Tennis Open event is the first of the four Super Series competitions, which are the equivalent of the Grand Slam tournaments.
