Norfolk won Britain's first ever Paralympic medal at tennis |
Paralympic champion Peter Norfolk will meet American top seed David Wagner in the quad final at the British Wheelchair Tennis Open on Saturday. Norfolk set up a repeat of last September's Paralympic decider with a 6-4 6-2 win over Monique De Beer.
Fellow Briton Jayant Mistry was knocked out of the men's singles at the quarter-final stage.
Mistry, who was bidding for his first Super Series semi-final spot, lost 1-6 6-2 6-3 to Austrian Martin Legner.
Legner will now face David Hall in the last four while Michael Jeremiasz will take on Robin Ammerlaan.
Mistry has a chance to make up for his singles defeat when he partners Robin Ammerlaan in Saturday's doubles final against top seeds David Hall and Michael Jeremiasz.
Top seed Esther Vergeer eased into the women's singles final where she will meet compatriot and second seed Sharon Walraven.
Vergeer beat French fourth seed Florence Gravellier 6-2 6-0 while Walraven defeated Maaike Smit 6-0 7-5.
