Mixed fortunes for GB in France
The Great Britain women's wheelchair basketball team won one match and lost another on the second day of the European Championships in France.

The team battled bravely in a 50-41 loss to Germany before recovering to defeat Spain 41-28.

GB were always chasing the game against Germany who pulled away in the second half to ease to victory.

But they put in a strong display against Spain with Sally Wager hitting 14 points with Kristina Small on 10.

GB led 23-10 at half time and although the Spaniards pulled the gap back to three points in the second half, GB responded well to claim victory.

"It was a much better performance than in our opener against France," said coach Garry Peel.

"The team played as I had asked them and their shooting was also much improved."
