Britain's John Robertson is guaranteed a bronze medal with one race to go in the Sonar class at the 2003 World Disabled Sailing Championships in Greece. Robertson finished in seventh and fifth place in the two races on Thursday, the penultimate day of the competition.
He is now 10 points ahead of Ireland's John Twomey with one race to go on Friday.
Robertson, and his crew of Stephen Thomas and Hannah Stodel, have a worst finish of 10th place.
With the lowest score in the series discounted, a lower finish than 10th by Robertson tomorrow would be dropped, which means Twomey cannot pass him in the final positions.
Udo Hessels' Dutch crew and Israel's Dror Cohen are battling it out for the gold medal on 16 and 18 points respectively.
Britain's other challenger Andy Cassell worked hard to cut the difference between his crew and those above him.
A sixth and an eighth place finish in Thursday's action mean he is still in sixth place, but he is just three points behind the fifth place crew and eight behind Twomey.
In the 2.4mR class, Andrew Millband finished 10th in Thursday's only race of the day to consolidate his 10th place overall.
Britain's Michael Coswell recorded his best finish yet with a seventh place that moved him up the field from 27th to 20th.
Of Britain's other challengers, Allan Smith lies in 14th, with 16-year-old Megan Pascoe 16th and Val Millward 23rd.
