Phil Taylor beat Raymond van Barneveld 18-12 to win his 11th World Matchplay title in Blackpool on Sunday. Dutchman Van Barneveld managed to keep pace until Taylor made his move with the final poised at 11-9. The Stoke-on-Trent star never led by less than four legs for the rest of the match as he clinched his third consecutive World Matchplay crown. "The final had a bit of everything, it was a brilliant game," said the 15-time world champion from Stoke-on-Trent. "There were times when I had to dig in and times when I was cruising." The 49-year-old added: "I love this tournament. No matter how many times I win it, it's a tremendous feeling to get hold of this trophy."
