Jason Allez was the hero with a checkout of 106 as Guernsey beat Jersey in the darts inter-insular on Saturday.

Allez was taking on Phil Speak in the ninth and final match with his team-mates having shared the previous eight encounters with the visitors.

It was not easy victory, with the match going to two legs apiece but in the deciding leg he completed the win.

It followed an emphatic victory for the women of the Maple Leaf Darts League, who beat their Jersey counterparts 7-2.

Yvonne Le Gallic won the all-important fifth game, although the Guernsey women were already 5-0 up.
