Lewis made the final in Blackpool back in 2007

Stoke's Adrian 'Jackpot' Lewis got off to a winning start at the World Matchplay Championships in Blackpool on Sunday night.

The 24-year-old beat Dutchman Co-Stompe 10-7 to progress through to the 2nd round of the competition.

"Usually my scoring is fantastic and my finishing isn't so good, but to check out 71% is a great start to the week," Lewis said after the match.

Lewis faces 2005 champion Colin Lloyd in the 2nd round on Wednesday night.
