Taylor is on course for another Premier League title

Phil Taylor secured top spot in the Premier League Darts table with victory over Mervyn King as the league phase finished on Thursday night.

Taylor won 8-2 against King, a result that sets the pair up to meet again in the semi-final stage at Wembley Arena on May 25.

Taylor said: "I'm delighted to finish top, it's been the hardest Premier League I've ever played in.

"This result won't matter when I play Mervyn again in the semi-finals."
