Taylor's only Premier League defeat came against James Wade in Belfast |
Phil Taylor and Raymond van Barneveld are set for their third high-profile meeting of 2009 when they meet in Birmingham on Thursday night. Their Premier League clash is a rematch of January's World Championship final, which Taylor won convincingly 7-1. They also met in week one of the Premier League, Taylor winning that one too in Liverpool, eight legs to four. A victory for Taylor at the NIA could lift him above James Wade and to the top of the Premier League table. Wade, the only player to beat the 14-times world champion in this year's tournament, is up against John Part. In the night's other matches, Mervyn King plays Wayne Mardle, while Jelle Klaasen takes on Terry Jenkins. The top four players in the table after 14 weeks will go through to the finals night at Wembley on 25 May.
