Terry Jenkins is still looking for his first Premier League win of the season |
Ledbury's Terry Jenkins slipped to his second straight defeat in the Premier League when he was beaten 8-5 by John Part at Newcastle's Metro Arena. Part did the damage early on in the contest as he opened up a four-leg lead, although Jenkins did respond. He produced a superb 11-darter to get off the mark, and then cut the deficit to 4-2 at the break. But the Canadian took the next two and Jenkins was left with too much to do as Part secured the win with a 128 finish. This defeat leaves the Herefordshire player one place off the foot of the Premier League table and still looking for his first win of the season. John Part admitted this had probably been a good night to play Jenkins. "I was lucky because Terry wasn't on his game," he said. "I did what I had to do and the doubles are going in when I need them at the moment. "I've plodded along so far but am in a position to benefit now because of my performances so I feel good."
