Phil Taylor has revealed his recent success is partly down to using darts that used to belong to his wife.

Taylor has won his last three matches in the Premier League of Darts, including wins over Raymond van Barneveld and world champion John Part.

"My wife wasn't using them so I picked them up and thought they were lovely," he told BBC Radio Stoke.

"I tried them in a match and haven't looked back since. I've probably won 100,000 with them."

Taylor began the Premier League season with a set of darts designed by a nuclear ballistics expert but struggled, losing three of his first four matches.

After a return to form that has seen him climb from seventh to third in the league table, Taylor meets world number three James Wade in Brighton on Thursday evening looking to avenge his opening day defeat.

"James is another kid who's listened to me. When he first started he was going to nightclubs and staying out until two or three in the morning. He doesn't do that anymore," said Taylor.

"He said that listening to me was the best thing he ever did. Now he goes to bed early, you don't see him in the bar and he's winning tournaments."

Elsewhere on Thursday, Adrian Lewis meets Terry Jenkins.
