He was joined by 2003 champion John Part, who dispatched Austria's Mensur Suljovic 4-1, winning three of the five sets 3-0.
In the final game of the night, Wade looked to be cruising at 2-0 but former world champion Beaton hit back and forced the match into a deciding set, only for Wade to rediscover his form and clinch it 3-1.
