Raymond van Barneveld has enjoyed improved form recently |
Raymond van Barneveld wrapped up a comfortable 3-0 win over Gary Anderson to cruise into the semi-finals of the Winmau World Masters at Bridlington. It was the Dutchman's second 3-0 victory of the day following an earlier defeat of Dirk Hespeels.
He now meets England captain Martin Adams who whitewashed Darryl Fitton.
Swedish sausage maker Goran Klemme caused the day's biggest shock by beating Gary Robson 3-0 after earlier knocking out Bobby George 3-1.
Defending champion Mervyn King lost his grip on the trophy when he went out 3-1 to Robson in the last 16.
Van Barneveld seemed close to his best form again against Anderson after a fairly barren year.
After winning his fourth world title at Frimley Green in January, he struggled in the International Darts League and the World Darts Trophy.
However he did recently win the Pacific Masters in Australia before helping Holland win the team and pairs gold at the World Cup.
His clash with Adams will be a repeat of this year's world final at the Lakeside.
