Britain's Victoria Pendleton won her second gold medal at the World Cup in Colombia with victory in the keirin, while Sir Chris Hoy took sprint silver.

Pendleton, who won the team sprint on Thursday, held off a six-woman field to win Saturday's keirin final from French duo Sandie Clair and Virginie Cueff.

Hoy beat team-mate Matt Crampton and world champion Gregory Bauge on his way to the sprint final in Cali.

However, he lost the best-of-three race final 2-0 to Kevin Sireau of France.

Laura Trott had to settle for fifth in the omnium despite winning the last discipline in the six-race event, the 500m time trial.

Great Britain traditionally use the three World Cup events outside the UK each year to blood younger riders.

But this year they have sent a strong squad to each event with qualification points available for the London 2012 Olympics.

The likes of Pendleton, Hoy and other leading GB riders hope to gain as many points as early as possible to avoid disrupting their training regimes with long-haul flights in 2012 in the build-up to London.

The UCI, cycling's governing body, will use the best results from all eligible riders across the 2011 and 2012 World Championships, World Cup Classics in 2010-2011 and 2011-2012, and the last two Continental Championships.

The final two rounds of this year's World Cup series take place in Beijing on 21 January and in Manchester on 18 February.
