Bozic is a former Tour of Spain stage winner |
Borut Bozic moved into second place in the Tour of Britain after he came home in second place in the sixth stage from King's Lynn to Great Yarmouth. The Slovene finished behind stage winner Andre Griepel, to close the gap on overall leader Michael Albasani to one minute 26 seconds. Griepel told BBC Radio Norfolk he was determined to keep a cushion for HTC-Columbia team mate Albasani. "We had just four people in the team to support our race leader," he said. "We didn't expect this today. But of course we are really happy with all the work we have done over the last three stages we should be really proud." | TOM FORDYCE'S BLOG |
Switzerland's Albasani could only muster a 38th place finish but is in the dominant position going into the last two stages. "It's not usual that you can control the race with four riders," he said. "It would be great to win, especially when you see that we are just four riders. "We have survived all the hard stages so hopefully we can survive the small ones." Friday's stage seven starts in Bury St Edmunds before ending in Colchester with the tour concluding in London on Saturday. Ed Clancy was Britain's highest finisher, the Motorpoint-Marshalls rider coming in 10th while Bradley Wiggins came 10th in the sprints competition.
