Tackling the 'bald mountain'

With the Champs Elysees in sight after three weeks of hard racing the Tour de France riders had one last mountainous stage to get through which ended 1900 metres up on the summit of Mont Ventoux.

Amateur cyclist, Charlie Pearch of Rapha Condor Cycling Club, has experienced the Ventoux at its best and its worst.

Having pedalled up the iconic mountain four times in the same week he knows just what Tour de France riders are facing when the road starts rising, 23km from the summit, in the village of Bedoin.
