Riders jostle for places during the Guet mountain bike race

Rob Smart is the 2009 Marlowe Cross Country mountain bike series champion after storming to victory in the season's final race at the Guet.

Smart held off an early challenge from the leading group to move clear at the front to subsequently claim the title.

Mike Serafin finished second with and Stuart Le Tissier coming home third.

Jon Osborn took fourth, leaving him second overall in the series, whilst James Rowe finished fifth ahead of Matt Osborn and Philip Touzeau.
