Cavendish in under contract with Colombia Highroad until 2010

Isle of Man cyclist Mark Cavendish has played down speculation linking him to the British-based Team Sky, which is due to be launched next season.

Cavendish, who won four stages of the 2008 Tour de France, is contracted with the American-owned Colombia Highroad team until 2010.

He told Cycling Weekly: "It's not the fact I'm under contract, it's the fact that I'm more than happy where I am.

"It's the best squad in the world and that's all I can say about it, really."

After claiming the green jersey at the Tour of California in February, Cavendish returns to racing on Saturday in the Eroica one-day race in Italy.
