David McCann took over the lead of the Tour of Ulster |
Belfast's David McCann leads the Tour of Ulster by 48 seconds from last year's runner-up, Kerryman Paul Griffin, after three stages. McCann started Sunday's action behind Griffin and was second to Ryan Connor in the 67-mile stage to Omagh but then won stage three, a 2.3-mile time trial. Monday's relatively flat final stage departs again from Omagh. The riders pass through Newtownstewart, Castlederg, Ederney, Ballinamallard and Dromore before arriving back to Omagh. McCann was sixth in Saturday's opening stage in which Griffin came home 13 seconds ahead of Neil Delahaye.
