Welsh cyclist Nicole Cooke says the formation of a British professional team is "the biggest step forward in women's sport for many, many years". Cooke 24, from Wick, heads a squad of 10 women and two men to ride a full season of events under the new team.
"This will be the first ever British professional women's team and I am very, very excited," said Cooke.
She has twice won the women's Tour de France and is one of Britain's hopes for Olympic success in Beijing.
