Millar, who specialises in time trials, will be eyeing a final-day charge |
Britain's David Millar is well placed to make his move at the Eneco Tour in Belgium as he approaches the final day in third, six seconds off the leader. Thomas Dekker took the overall lead after an accident-packed stage six, won by Spain's Pablo Lastras on Tuesday.
But with Wednesday's 29.6km final stage to come, Millar, a time trial specialist, will be hopeful of victory.
That would make it a double British win as Mark Cavendish has already won the green jersey sprint title.
Leader Dekker, second overall before the hilly, 177.9-km ride from Beek to Landgraaf, seized his chance after overnight leader Nick Nuyens of Belgium crashed mid-stage and abandoned the race.

Injured in the same crash but able to continue, Dekker opened up a four-second lead over Spaniard Jose Ivan Gutierrez, who leads Millar.
"The best thing about today is getting the leader's jersey," said Dekker. "It was a very stressful stage - hilly, technical and with constant changes of speed.
"I'm injured from my crash, but I don't think it's anything too serious. As for winning overall, I need some sleep first before seeing what I can do."
The day's victory went to breakaway specialist Lastras after a joint attack with Dane Anders Lund 50km from the finish.
