Cavendish competed in the Tour de France for the first time this year |
British sprinter Mark Cavendish will spearhead T-Mobile's challenge in the Tour of Britain from 9-15 September. Cavendish will be joined in the German team's pink jerseys by fellow Briton Roger Hammond.
Cavendish said: "I am really excited about riding the Tour of Britain with such a strong T-Mobile team.
"Last year I raced here as a stagiare, but this year I have a full season of top racing under my belt and I'm hoping to make a big impression at this race."
The 590-mile race starts at Crystal Palace and ends in Glasgow.
Following the 1.55-mile (2.5km) prologue time trial, the six-stage race travels through the south of England, Somerset, the West Midlands and Yorkshire, before crossing into the North West and finishing in Scotland.
It will be the fourth time the race has been staged since it restarted in 2004.
