NI rider David McCann was injured in the fall near Melbourne |
David McCann will be fit to race for Northern Ireland at the Commonwealth Games later this month after sustaining injuries in a crash during training. The Irish champion from Belfast suffered cuts and bruises when he fell off his bike near Melbourne.
"There is no risk of him not competing," NI cycling team manager Alastair Irvine told BBC Sport.
Philip Deignan was forced to withdraw from the Games cycling team after he was injured in an accident last month.
"David did take quite a knock but the major impact is on his preparation for the Games," added Irvine.
"David has a disciplined and organised preparation plan and it may have implications for that.
"The initial feedback is that he is getting treatment and that he remains very positive."
