Victory for Van Bon
Dutchman Leon van Bon, in his former team colours
Van Bon won in four hours 40 minutes 11 seconds
Dutchman Leon van Bon held off the chasing pack to win the third stage of the Tour of Germany on Thursday.

Christophe Agnolutto finished second and another Dutch rider, Remco Van der Ven, was third.

The peloton finished just behind, German Erik Zabel winning the sprint for fourth place in the same time as the leading trio.

Switzerland's Gregory Rast came in with the pack to retain the overall lead.

The stage was marred by the heavy fall of German champion Danilo Hondo, who was taken to hospital with cuts and grazes after crashing into a barrier 50 km into the 191.7km stage.

Euskal Bizikleta

Jose Antonio Pecharroman took over the overall lead in the Euskal Bizikleta after winning Thursday's 167.2km second stage from Ispaster to Aizarnazabal.

Fellow Spaniard David de la Fuente was second, almost a minute behind, and moved into second place in the standings.

Italian star Francesco Casagrande was third on the stage for the second day running, a result which also leaves him third in the overall ahead of last yera's Tour de France runner-up Joseba Beloki.
