Jackson was top seed after winning the 2009 World Indoor Singles title |
Lincoln's Billy Jackson is out of the World indoor singles bowls in Norfolk after a shock 7-7, 8-8, 2-1 second round defeat by Hirendra Bhartu. The defending champion led the first set 7-4 before unseeded Canadian Bhartu hit back to halve the set. Jackson then produced a great escape of his own, picking up four shots in the final end of the second set to level at 8-8 and force a tie-break. He won the opening end but Bhartu went on to take the next two and the match. Jackson, who was a beaten finalist in the pairs, is the sixth seeded player to be knocked out in the first two rounds of the tournament at Potters Leisure.
