He would like to be a Christian Missionary when he leaves university, and says he would dedicate the win to Jesus should Oxford triumph on 6 April.
Basil Dixon

The theology student returns for his second Boat Race following last year's triumph.
Dixon has won silver and bronze medals at the national championships, and four years ago took silver in the junior world championships.
Samuel McLennan

McLennan is a four-times US national team champion, where he moved with his family as a 15-year-old.
He plans do general medicine when he completes his MSc in sports medicine at Oxford.
David Livingston

The youngest oarsman in the Oxford boat, Livingston will be competing against his brother James, who returns to the Cambridge boat for a second time.
The Livingstons come from a Cambridge varsity family, with parents John and Kate both achieving degrees there.
Robin Bourne-Taylor

This is the 21-year-old's third appearance in the Boat Race, having tasted both defeat and then victory in the previous two races.
When he finishes University, the engineering student is hoping to join the Household Cavalry.
Scott Frandsen

Frandsen only started rowing at the age of 16, but has already gained plenty of experience.
He helped Canada to gold at the under-23 world championship in 2000, and finished second in the same competition last year.
Henry Morris

This is the 20-year-old's debut in the Boat Race, although he rowed for the victorious Isis team in last year's reserve race.
Morris took gold in the national school championships in 2000, and last year finished sixth in the coxed four at the U23 Nations Cup.
Matthew Smith (President)

Three years ago Smith became the youngest oarsman in the history of the Boat Race.
Oxford's president has plenty of experience of the event - he won as an 18-year old in 2000, lost in his second outing the following year, and won again 12 months ago.
Acer Nethercott

This is the 25-year-old philosophy student's debut in the Boat Race, although last year he rowed for Isis in the reserve race.
Acer in Latin means 'fierce, keen and eager'.
