JR Blount joined Riders in the summer

JR Blount inspired Leicester Riders to a stunning 102-99 win over BBL leaders Newcastle Eagles.

Blount was in unstoppable form, bagging 40 points as Riders turned in their best performance of the season at the John Sandford Centre on Saturday.

Riders led 51-50 at half-time and 81-77 by the end of the third.

A wonderful start to the final period saw Riders go 97-85 ahead and although Eagles responded in fine style with a 12-2 tear, Riders held on to win.
