BBL Cup winners Mersey Tigers earned a place in the BBL Trophy final with a narrow semi-final second leg win over Newcastle Eagles. After an 82-82 draw in the first leg, Tigers were behind for much of the second and trailed 49-40 at half-time. They cut that lead to 62-59 by the end of the third quarter and, after a Perry Lawson free throw gave them the lead, Tafari Toney's slam dunk sealed it. The Tigers will now meet Guildford Heat in the final on Saturday, 5 March.
