Leicester Riders put up a brave display to beat Guildford Heat but could not overturn a 20-point first-leg deficit in their BBL Trophy semi-final.

Riders won 94-87 at the John Sandford Centre on Saturday but in the third quarter the hosts led by 19 points and a dramatic comeback seemed likely.

But Heat stood firm and trimmed the gap to close out the victory and reach the final for the third time in four years.

JR Blount led all scorers with 27 points for the hosts.

Tayo Ogedengbe led the Heat with 22, while Julius Joseph had 15 with six rebounds and four assists.
