Macaulay handed over the head coaching role to Mike New in June |
Milton Keynes Lions are close to adding two more, unnamed US-based ball players to their squad, according to chief executive Vince Macaulay. Boss Mike New has already signed up point guards Kris Clark and Stefan Gill ahead of the new season. Macaulay told BBC Three Counties Radio: "It's just a case of dotting the I's and crossing the T's and having them come over here. "The signing of Kris has made them very excited to come over." Meanwhile Macaulay has been continuing his search for a new Lions venue. The club have been homeless since the end of last season, when it was decided they would no longer use the Middleton Hall shopping centre. | We've identified two sites, we're just completing surveys to see how much it's going to cost us to make the changes MK Lions chief executive Vince Macaulay on the search for a new home |
The British Basketball League has given them permission to play their first three games at the Stoke Mandeville Stadium, but Macaulay insists it won't be a permanent home. "It means we probably won't be playing a home game here in Milton Keynes until 14 November," he said. "We've identified two sites, we're just completing surveys to see how much it's going to cost us to make the changes." The Lions hope to eventually play at Arena:MK when the delayed project is completed.
