Thompson saved Matthew Barnes-Homer's 74th-minute penalty

Newport County earned their first point in the Blue Square Bet Premier, inspired by keeper Glyn Thompson's heroics at Luton.

County's Charlie Henry opened the scoring with a low shot against the run of play in the 26th minute.

Zdenek Kroca levelled from a corner five minutes later.

Matthew Barnes-Homer saw a penalty saved by Thompson after Danny Crow was tripped and Town midfielder Keith Keane was sent off late on for a bad tackle.
