Leicester Riders run free coaching sessions for juniors

Basketball

Leicester Riders will be providing free coaching sessions to youngsters across the county during the school holidays.

The Outdoor Basketball Fest sessions begin on Monday, 26 July and run in eight different locations.

Sessions last for an hour and are aimed at three age groups: under-12s, under-15s, and 16s and over.

General manager Russell Levenston said: "This is a great way to introduce people to basketball in a constructive yet fun and safe environment."

Riders, who finished third in the BBL table last season, have provided coaching in more than two hundred schools across the city and county and Levenston said these sessions were a continuation of that work.

"The summer is an important time in terms of our community outreach work," he said.

"We are looking forward to continuing to develop our grass roots programme by providing top quality coaching to children in Leicestershire."
