Leicester Riders saw off out-of-form Milton Keynes Lions 104-101 in overtime on Sunday to secure a fifth win in seven BBL matches.

By contrast the Lions have now lost five league games in a row and have dropped to sixth in the table.

Riders were led by 27 points from Jason Johnson with LaTaryl Williams and Bradd Wierzbicki making vital contributions.

And although Yorick Williams scored 36 (with 10 three-pointers) for the home side, his efforts proved in vain.

Riders were on the verge of victory in regulation time as they established an 86-81 lead in a tight and thrilling match.

Williams and Bradd Wierzbicki then exchanged triples to make the score 89-84 entering the last minute of the game.

The visitors led by two going into the dying stages but Dawud Morris tied the game at 90-90 with 12 seconds on the clock.

Lions took the lead on another Williams triple early in overtime, before he responded with six straight points for the Riders, who went on to win from the free-throw line in the last minute.
