Harry Disy top scored for Wolves with 22 points |
Worcester Wolves fell to a one-point defeat for the second consecutive home game as they lost to Worthing Thunder in overtime. With two minutes 34 seconds remaining the game was level at 74-74 and both sides had several opportunities to win. Neither side could force any points at this vital stage as the defences of both teams held firm. Ex-Worcester favourite Evaldas Zabas missed a three and Reggie Bratton saw the last shot of regular time rim out. A three-pointer from Danny Gilbert and another two from Rod Middleton took the Wolves into the lead at 81-79 but the Thunder then tied the game up at 81-81. Harry Disy, Wolves' top scorer of the day, made one of his two free throws to edge Worcester with 38 seconds on the clock. Bratton made a very important two points for the visitors which left the Wolves 15 seconds to score but a long-range effort from Gilbert missed and the Thunder claimed a win by the smallest possible margin.
