Wierzbicki averaged 19.4 points in his first season with the Riders

Leicester Riders have re-signed guard Bradd Wierzbicki for the new season.

The 23-year-old American averaged 19.4 points per game in his first season with the club, making him the seventh leading scorer in the BBL.

Coach Rob Paternostro said: "As soon as the season ended, we spoke to Bradd about coming back.

"It was a long process, but to be able to hold on to a guy who can score and is already comfortable in our system is a big coup for the club."

Paternostro added: "Bradd is the kind of player who has a nose for scoring whether it be from the outside, from the free-throw line or getting out on the fast break.

"He had a great season so it will be tough to post better numbers.

"But as a young player, Bradd is looking to improve in a lot of areas of his game. He has a lot of potential and he certainly has a chance to keep getting better.

"He's also a great guy, the fans love him and we couldn't be happier to have him back."
