Zafirov is Thunder's fourth summer signing

Worthing Thunder have completed the signing of Bulgarian forward Petroslav Zafirov.

The 27-year-old, who stands at 6ft 8in, spent the last two seasons in the Bulgarian National League playing for Lukoil Academic and Levski Sofia.

Thunder's operations director Alan Sweetman-Hicks said: "We think he will be a tremendous asset to the club.

"He can play both the power forward and small forward roles and can fill in at centre if required."

Zafirov said he was happy to be Sussex-bound.

"I feel very grateful for the opportunity of playing for Thunder. I like the UK very much and I think that the BBL is a great spot for developing my basketball career and experience, so I'm very excited about the near future," he said.

"I will work hard to do my best, to get us wins and satisfy Thunder fans".
