Paternostro signed a new deal with the Riders in June

Leicester Riders head coach Rob Paternostro says he is doing all he can to put together a team who will enable him to repeat last season's success.

Riders finished third in the BBL last term and Paternostro knows it will not be easy to better that.

"I'm looking forward to next season but there is a long process still to go with the recruiting," Paternostro said.

"We are working hard to get a group out on the floor the fans would like to see and will be proud of."

He told BBC Radio Leicester: "I have a general idea of what I would like my team to look like but you have to be able to adjust because things do not always go according to plan.

"Last year was excellent; it was exciting, it was fun and I know our fans enjoyed it."

Riders face Sheffield Sharks in their opening BBL fixture of the new season on Saturday, 26 September.
