Chad McKnight wants to win for outbound Coach Paul James
Guildford Heat forward Chad McKnight hopes to keep alive their the season by beating Plymouth Raiders in Sunday's BBL Championship quarter-final.
The Heat, fourth this season, were the play-off winners in 2008 and reached the semi-finals in 2006.
McKnight told BBC Surrey: "It hurt to not win the trophy so now we are trying to push to win the play-offs."
The Heat's meeting with the Raiders will tip off at 1500 BST at the Guildford Spectrum.
McKnight admits his side's season has been a strange one - they have gone into administration and head coach Paul James will leave at the end of the season.
"We started out so slow and built around things with guys leaving and guys coming in, something I haven't dealt with a lot since I've been here," added McKnight.
"Once we heard that PJ wasn't coming back everybody was shocked because he's won a lot over the last couple of years.
"They've pretty much been the most successful team in the BBL in the last four years so it's been a shock to everybody really."
