Riders coach Rob Paternostro says James will fill a gap in his side |
Leicester Riders have signed former London Capitals forward Duane James ahead of the transfer deadline. The American played four games for the Capitals earlier this season - averaging 24 points and five rebounds. Coach Rob Paternostro: "He'll give us some much-needed depth that we've lacked since Rod Wellington was ruled out for the season. "Duane should be able to fill a bit of a gap for us... we're looking forward to having him in the line-up." Paternostro added: "He's a good athlete and he showed during his time at London that he is capable of putting the ball in the basket." James is awaiting the final paperwork for his work permit to come through before he can make his debut, which is expected to be next weekend. Before coming to the BBL, James had a spell in Denmark after leaving Binghamton University in the US.
