Cauthorn hit 10 points and claimed 8 rebounds against Cheshire Jets
Sheffield Sharks assistant coach Todd Cauthorn says he is happy to play again after stepping out of a two-season retirement against Cheshire Jets.
The 37-year-old came out of retirement last weekend to cover the injury to Arnaud Dahi and could feature against Worcester in the Cup on Sunday.
"If Arnaud is struggling still then I am happy to step up again," Cauthorn told BBC Radio Sheffield.
"I feel I can bring a good defensive direction for us," he added.
"So if the coach feels that gives us the best chance of winning then I will do just that."
Cauthorne is part of a new coaching set-up at the Sharks, working alongside fellow assistant John Belk and new head coach Atiba Lyons.
"It's been a long process when we started back in September for all of us to figure out how it would work and the roles we would take," explained Cauthorne .
"Atiba is ultimately in charge and it is his call in what we do.
"But he certainly takes mine and John's word on board and let's us put our two cent in.
"We are there to take off the pressure of coaching off Atiba on game day, so he can go out and play well.
"We need him to be playing well to give us the best chance of winning matches."
