Sheffield Sharks's new player-coach Atiba Lyons faces Everton Tigers in his first game in charge on Friday.

Both clubs have new coaches in place for the tie at the English Institute of Sport, with Lyons having become player-coach of the Sharks this summer.

Lyons told BBC Radio Sheffield: "The guys have been working hard pre-season and are raring to play on Friday."

The Sharks faired better than Everton in last season's meetings, with the Sheffield team taking the series 2-1.

Lyons is faced with no fresh injury worries and expects new signing Shawn Rivers to start.
