Great Britain's women claimed their first victory in EuroBasket qualification thanks to a last-gasp 61-59 success against Germany. With the game set to go into overtime, Jo Leedham clinched victory to take her tally for the match to 16 points. The result puts Britain in fourth place in the five-team group, level with Israel on four points. Britain need to finish in the top two spots in Group A to qualify automatically for the final round. "We should have had the game won by then," GB head coach Mark Clark told BBC Sport. "But fair do's to the Germans, they cam back. "We got a little bit passive - were trying not to lose the game rather than going out and winning it." Clark praised Leedham, who has emerged as a force on the international stage in the past two games. "We'd have loved to have had Jo with us last year," he said, pointing out that college commitments in the USA had hindered Leedham's availability last summer. "She gives us an extra dimension - she creates for herself and knows how to score. We've got a number of people who contributed. Steff Collins knocked down a couple of three-pointers and Georgia Jones played much better last night."
