Potential rival British Basketball League bidders Worthing Thunder and Brighton Cougars hold differing views on Sussex sustaining two BBL clubs. Both want to join next season but the BBL are undecided on whether they will accept one Sussex franchise or two.
Thunder spokesman Frank Gainsbury told BBC Southern Counties Radio: "I think the county can support both of us."
Cougars administrator Anne Baverstock disagrees: "I have my doubts simply on head count but it's up to the BBL."
BBL official Mike Davies believes it is up to the clubs to persuade the League to accept them both: "It will depend on how strong their two applications are. The next stage is, can Sussex sustain two franchises? And it's too early to answer that question.

"Historically both Worthing and Brighton have supported BBL clubs. It could support two, and that decision will be made after they've submitted their applications."
Thunder bid representative Frank Gainsbury thinks the future could be great for the county.
"There would be tremendous interest and competition with two clubs. But we do need to work together.
"It would be terribly counter-productive to see this as a battle between two sides."
