Worthing Thunder have confirmed they are bidding to bring top flight basketball back to the town. The double EBL champions are the second Sussex club to confirm a BBL bid for an already over-subscribed 2008/2009 season, alongside Brighton Cougars.
Bid representative and fan Frank Gainsbury told BBC Southern Counties Radio: "This is the natural next step.
"We're trying to get the club back to where it was before, and we're ready to fight for our place."
