Phoenix will take on San Antonio in the second round of the NBA play-offs after wrapping up a comprehensive 4-1 series victory over the Los Angeles Lakers. The Suns beat LA 119-110 with the help of 26 points from Amare Stoudemire and after overcoming a late scoring charge from Kobe Bryant.
In San Antonio, Michael Finley set a Spurs play-off record with eight three-pointers in the win over Denver.
Spurs' 93-78 victory completed a 4-1 series triumph.
"Obviously, we're thrilled with the win against a very good basketball team that is very, very difficult to guard for a lot of reasons," said Spurs coach Gregg Popovich.
"Finley was ridiculous. Throughout the game, he was fantastic."
